A haven for powder hounds, the brand new purpose-built Revelstoke Mountain Resort is the only resort in the world offering lift-skiing, cat skiing, and helicopter skiing from its village base.

With the longest lift serviced vertical descent in North America (1713 metres/5620 feet) and over 200 established heli-ski runs in the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains, Revelstoke already has so much to offer, with much more under development.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort is located 6 kilometres (3.5 miles) from downtown Revelstoke, British Columbia, with regional airline service available to the nearby regional centres of Kelowna and Kamloops. Alternatively, air service from Calgary to Revelstoke itself is available through Hawkair for the 2008/2009 season.

If travelling by car, the drive to Revelstoke is said to be one of the most stunning trips in Canada, travelling from the east through 2 national parks in the Selkirk Mountains, complete with views of white water rapids, forests and the glacier-lined Rodgers Pass, and from the west through the picturesque Okanagan Valley.

This purpose-built resort, is currently serviced by a high-speed gondola, 2 high-speed quad chairs and a magic carpet, offering skiers a variety of terrain, including a mammoth 15.2km/9.5mi run down the mountain. This is just the beginning.

The construction of Revelstoke Mountain Resort began in 2005, with the resort officially opening in December 2007. And with development of the resort and village expected to continue over 15 years, there will always be something new to experience!

Skiers visiting Revelstoke in the 2008/2009 season will be able to access twice as much terrain as the season before, including more intermediate terrain, with the development of the new high-speed quad chair and gondola extension.

The master plan for Revelstoke features over 20 lifts accessing 4,047 hectares (10,000 acres) of terrain, over 100 ski runs, an 18-hole golf course and accommodation options for all budgets for up to 5000 guests. Along with the continued development of the village, Revelstoke looks set to emerge as a world-class all-seasons resort.

And with a historical average snowfall 12 - 18 metres (40 - 60 feet) annually measured in the Selkirk Mountains, you are sure to have a great time whether lift, cat or heli skiing!

The mountain offers terrain for those of all abilities, with a natural bench at the top of the gondola creating a conveniently located novice area with great views. However, there is plenty of black diamond terrain to please the more advanced.
