Banff @ Norquay
While at first impression Norquay may seem an extremely challenging mountain thanks to the 5 super-steep mogul-studded runs that appear when you approach the area, it actually encompasses a wide range of terrain suitable for all skill levels.
Everyone is accounted for, with runs that range from gentle beginner cruisers to heart-pounding double black diamond steeps. The resort is also widely considered Banff’s best family ski resort.

Located just 6 km from downtown Banff, Alberta, Ski Norquay is the town’s closest ski resort. It is a 1 ½ hour drive from the closest airport, Calgary International.
Norquay has thrilled since 1926 and has some of the most weather-sheltered terrain in the area.
While Mt. Norquay doesn’t offer any ‘ski-in/ski-out’ accommodation, staying in nearby Banff means you can access 3 world-class resorts from the same base: Ski Norquay, Lake Louise and Sunshine Valley.
In fact, purchase a Tri-Area Lift Ticket and you can choose which of the ‘Big 3’ resorts you go to each day for the best weather and conditions, or have a lesson with the Big 3 Ski School and explore all 3 resorts while improving your skills and style.
As Banff’s closest and most accessible terrain park, the Mt Norquay Terrain Park, designed by renowned snowboard park maker Jeff Patterson, has features to suit all skill levels. The park’s features include jumps, rails, beginner boxes, a quarter-pipe and pyramid. Norquay also has the only night skiing in the Bow Valley, including the only lit terrain park.
And with a wide range of activities offered in the Banff/Mt Norquay area, including dog sledding, horse-drawn sleigh rides, heli skiing, ice skating and hot springs, you will never be bored on a day off the slopes!
