LESSONS
Silver Star Mountain Resort operates an internationally acclaimed Ski & Snowboard School offering adult, youth and children’s ski improvement programs. Most of our Ski Tours Canada packages include ski improvement lessons and lift tickets.

We strongly recommend advance bookings for the lesson component of your personalised itinerary, particularly in peak holiday season. We may also be able to assist with some personal recommendations for instructors upon request.

The resort’s Silver Star Ski & Board School is arguably the best ski and snow boarding academy in Canada. Whether you are new to the sport or an expert looking to refine your skills there are plenty of courses on offer.

Children, from newborns to 6 years of age, will have the fun of their lives at the Star Kids Daycare Centre. As well as exciting indoor activities from arts and crafts to movies, games and toys, they can also improve their skiing or boarding skills.

For beginners there’s a magic carpet in an enclosed learning area with a lift. It’s right in front of the centre! Kids can learn to ski or snowboard with friendly, certified instructors who are legendary for their patience and enthusiasm.

Silver Star Mountain Resort is also home to the Snowsport Academy. This award-winning organisation allows visitors to train with Canada’s leading ski and snowboard instructors, who have achieved at least CSIA Level 3 certification. The academy offers a variety of programs to suit your ambitions and is a great chance to learn from the best.
 

Silver Star is one of the venues of the Interschools Canada program, which offers holiday and training packages for Australian families - aimed at helping children train for Australian interschool competitions while enjoying an overseas family holiday.

Interschools Canada training programs are run at Silver Star and Big White resorts by international ski and snowboard instructors, and are specifically designed to train children competing in Australian interschool snowsport competitions.  Disciplines covered in training include alpine ski racing, skier-cross, moguls, boarder-cross and alpine snowboard. For more information about Interschools Canada, click here.  

Silver Star Mountain Resort is world-famous for its Nordic skiing. With more than 60km of immaculately groomed Nordic trails, we recommend you try it out. Specialist instructors and state-of-the-art equipment are ready and waiting in this winter wonderland.
 

LIFTS
Silver Star offers single day, multi day and season lift passes, with lower prices for youths (13-18 years), children (6-12 years) and seniors (65 years +), while children under the age of five ski free.

As Silver Star and Big White resorts share the same owner, a regular multi-day lift pass or a Dual Mountain Pass (which costs around 13% more than a regular season pass) allow you to ski both mountains! Other benefits of holding a Silver Star season pass include free night skiing, accommodation specials (depending on availability) and discounts on shopping, rentals and repairs, tubing tickets, tickets to some other resorts, group and private lessons and new hard goods at resort-owned retail outlets.
 

GEAR
 When it comes to ski, snowboard & Nordic equipment, Ski Tours Canada are as flexible as you need to be. Some of our personalised snow holiday itineraries include gear hire. We will look after everyone in your group from toddlers to adults. 
 

Silver Star Mountain Resort offers an extensive range of excellent quality rental equipment to choose from, and you can swap your gear over each day if you want to try skiing one day and boarding the next. All part of the friendly service!
