Backcountry Adventures with the Whistler Alpine Guides Bureau
– Take guided tour of the backcountry outside the Ski Area Boundary, experiencing Whistler’s renowned coastal powder. Open to skiers, boarders and telemarkers, this mountain adventure doesn’t require any previous backcountry experience.

 

 

Bungee Jumping
- Whistler Bungee supplies the ultimate adrenalin rush. Experienced operators and a custom built bridge high above a rushing river, all in a beautiful natural setting, make your bungee experience something to scream about.

 

Cross-Country Skiing -
Over 28 kilometres of track-set cross-country trails take skiers through scenic Lost Lake Park, the Chateau Whistler Golf Course and Nicklaus North Golf Course. And thanks to the development of Whistler Olympic Park for the 2010 Winter Games, cross country skiers now have access to a total of more than 60kms of trail to explore, with dual passes available for Olympic Park and the Lost Lake Park trail network. Different routes are available for all levels of skiers.

 

Dog Sledding -
Let the musher and his team of Alaskan Huskies take you on a winter journey through the spectacular Soo Valley Wildlife Reserve. Stop along the trail for a traditional snack and a visit with the team. You can even be the musher and drive the sled (weather and trail conditions permitting!)

The view encompasses the coastal range as far as the eye can see, including glacial flows, peaks, rivers and glacier fed lakes.

 

Fondue by Snowcat or Snowmobile –
Take a heated snowcat or exhilarating snowmobile ride up to Crystal hut at the top of Blackcomb Mountain at night to enjoy a candlelit fondue dinner with wine and a dessert of freshly-baked warm fruit pie, as well as live entertainment.

 

Fresh Tracks -
Fresh Tracks offers early birds a mountain-sized breakfast buffet and early loading privileges. Upload to the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain between 7:30am and 8:30am. As soon as Whistler Patrol gives the okay on avalanche clearance, you're free to hit the open runs on the upper half of the mountain.

 

Heli-Skiing/Boarding -

Sno-Limo Mountain Ecotouring - "Sno-Limo" is the best way for non-skiers/snowboarders to glide along snow-covered mountain trails, enjoy breathtaking vistas and join your group, friends or family on the mountain or on the slopes. Your personal "SNO-LIMO" chauffeur will take you for a comfortable on-mountain excursion and show you all the sights. Non-skier/boarder parents or grandparents can now witness the exploits of family youngsters firsthand on the slopes.

 

Snowcat Skiing and Snowboarding -
Powder Mountain Catskiing offers luxurious Bombardier snowcats to take you to an unforgettable day of cat skiing or snowboarding in the Whistler backcountry. Your day will consist of an average of 7,000 to 10,000 vertical feet of untracked powder. You will be picked up in Whistler Village at Tex Corleone's where you will enjoy a buffet breakfast at 7:30am and then be driven to the snowcat location. Certified guides will brief you on backcountry safety, avalanche awareness, and the use of avalanche transceivers (supplied by Powder Mountain Snowcats). A hearty lunch will also be provided while on the mountain. Guests will return to Whistler at approximately 5pm.

 

Snowcat Tours -
The cosy Crystal Hut awaits you after a deluxe and relaxing snowcat journey up snow covered mountain routes. Let our skilled and informative operator do the driving while your entertainer sings you a tune. Our heated 19-passenger Snowcat has CD stereo surround sound, wraparound glass for panoramic views, upholstery bucket seats and an open design that allows guests to interact with the driver. Your tour includes snowcat adventure, a narrated history of Whistler and a fondue dinner.

 

Snowmobiling -
Canadian Snowmobile Adventures carefully designs tours to suit every skill and ambition level. They range from easy terrain, where kids ride free, to 1st class riding and dining tours , full-day backcountry expeditions and night tours. All tours begin with a complete snowmobile riding and safety lesson with demonstrations on fully automatic 500 cc machines with time permitted for questions. Spring Skiing and Snowboarding – Just because it’s warming up doesn’t mean all the skiing and riding fun is over. While most Canadian resorts close in early April, Whistler Mountain stays open until late April and Blackcomb Mountain operates until early May. Check out the spring terrain parks and relax on sunny mountain patios. And don’t worry if the snow melts on the lower part of the mountain – take the Gondola down the village at the end of the day.
