Red Mountain is located 3km from the town of Rossland in the West Kootenay regionof British Columbia near the US/Canada border. This town of 4,000 people has no traffic lights so it’s hard to believe that during the gold mining days this was the biggest city in British Columbia.

Rossland and Red Mountain are located a 2 ½ hour drive from Spokane International Airport (Washington, USA) and 3 ½ hours from Kelowna International Airport (British Columbia, Canada). Daily regional flights are also available to the nearby airports of Castlegar (30 minutes away) and Trail (15 minutes away).

An amazing average of 750cm of snow is received at Red Resort each season.  The resort is host to downhill skiing and snowboarding in some awesome terrain including a half pipe built on the mountain every winter.

The Back Trail offers groomed cruising for intermediates but the rest of the mountain is designated black diamond or double black diamond.  The ski area is exceptional for advanced intermediates to experts while solid intermediates will be pushed to their limits.

Nordic skiers will find over 30km of trails for skaters and traditional skiers while backcountry touring is also very popular.

Lower intermediates and beginners will find Paradise Basin on the sunny side of Granite Mountain offers great beginner runs.

Expert snowboarders will be in heaven due to the free riding and “snowboard anywhere” policy on some of the steepest and most extreme terrain in the country.

Heli-skiing has also been recently added to the list of delights offered by the resort while Snow Hosts give free guided tours of the mountain every day.

Ski Tours Canada can design your personal snow holiday with as many extra services and activities as you like, from home-delivered groceries to fishing and golfing. After all, we are here to make your Red Mountain holiday unforgettable.
