Red Mountain Resort
Red Mountain and the town of Rossland offer a variety of on and off-mountain activities to ensure your days off the slopes are never dull.
As part of out Red Mountain ski packages, Ski Tours Canada includes an up-to-date list of activities and services with your travel documentation.
Heli and Cat Skiing – The Kootenay region of British Columbia is renowned for its powder, making it the best place to try heli-skiing and cat-skiing! Within just 4 hours of Red Mountain there are around 10 heli-ski and cat-ski operators. The choices are outstanding and the experiences are unforgettable! The closest Cat-Skiing operation is Big Red Cats, only 10 minutes from Red.
Snowmobiling – Explore the many miles of trails around Rossland or enjoy an evening snowmobile tour to the top of Granite Mountain. The West Kootenays has some of the best terrain for snowmobiling in BC.
Backcountry Touring –There is plenty of backcountry touring terrain around Red Mountain, with access to five different peaks form the resort’s boundary. However, if you are travelling on your own, remember that backcountry travellers are solely responsible for their own safety.
Cross Country Skiing – There are two cross-country ski areas located in the vicinity of Red Mountain. Together, the BlackJack Cross Country Club and the Paulson Cross Country Ski Trails maintain more than 85km (50m) of trails for skate and classic skiing.
Trail aquatic Centre – The pool, diving boards and indoor water slide found at the Trail Aquatic Centre are sure-fire hits with the kids. Adults in need of relaxation will also find a hot tub and steam room.
