Kimberley Alpine Resort
Kimberley Alpine Resort is a popular family resort, enjoying consistent snowfalls, short lift lines and an abundance of sunny days.
Beginners can take advantage of their own exclusive learning area. With programs expanding and more people taking lessons there was need for more space, so they created it! The Owl Learning area has a new 180-foot long magic carpet with a corralled, low-angle learning slope and existing terrain was re-contoured to offer beginner's a wider, lower angle slope to master the initial skills before heading up the North Star Express Quad.
With over 1,800 acres of wide open groomed, cruising terrain, moguls and gladed runs, intermediate or advanced skiers and riders also have plenty of terrain to explore. The resort also has one of North America's longest illuminated night skiing run with floodlit skiing on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
With recent on-mountain expansion there are plenty of ski-in/ski-out accommodation choices. Nearby, Kimberley itself – known as the “Bavarian City of the Rockies” – offers many other attractions. Experience the European-flavoured restaurants and shops while enjoying the friendly Canadian spirit.
Kimberley Alpine Resort gets some serious powder. With almost 7 metres of white fluff last season, it became a serious contender in the powder destination category. Runs on the backside's Easter Bowl and in Kimberley's new gladed areas were especially delicious all season long.
Kimberley Alpine Resort has also added two new portable tower mount guns that can be used in five separate locations on the mountain providing greater coverage and a higher rate of snow production!
When you're finished enjoying the slopes visit Kimberley's Adventure Desk to check out the current activities and entertainment. Whether it's dining in your own igloo, taking a mountaintop snowshoe tour complimented by a chocolate fondue treat, enjoying some of the best night-lit skiing in Western Canada or dining on a Bavarian feast there's never a shortage of things to do once the sun goes down in Kimberley. Children are welcomed to the Kidzrule Evening program offered nightly with activities such as crafts, movies, games or tubing!
Kimberley Alpine Resort is pleased to be extending their Starbucks service in-resort for theirguests. In addition to the Slopeside Coffee kiosk, which currently features Starbucks drip coffee and espresso drinks, they look forward to now featuring Starbucks drip coffee at all of their food and beverage outlets.
