Kicking Horse Announces Early Opening & the Best
November 2007
November 27, 2006, Golden, BC… With over 150 cm of dry, fluffy snow on the slopes and incredible powder skiing to be had, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is starting the 2007-08 season with an early opening. Today, resort officials announced the much anticipated news that Kicking Horse Mountain Resort will open with 4,133 vertical feet of skiing on December 8th, 2007.
Originally scheduled to open on December 14th, the resort plans to open the mountain early for a weekend of skiing on December 8th and 9th. The resort does plan to close mid-week Monday to Thursday for further slope work and open December 14th for the winter season with seven-days-a-week operating schedule.
“We have been getting hit with great snow and consistent cold temperatures over the last few weeks,” said Steve Paccagnan, President and General Manager. “With such significant natural snowfall, trails that are better prepared as a result of our summer grooming initiatives and new grooming fleet, we are in great shape” adds Paccagnan. “We are now able to open more terrain earlier with better conditions. Our guests are going to love it!”
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has undergone extensive work to ensuring intermediate access into Bowl Over, new glade skiing on the lower mountain and a new family fun zone.
“We have been very focused on enhancing our core product” says Rusty Noble, Director of Operations and Guest Experience. “Our staff have worked tirelessly over the past few months to get things ready and they deserve to be acknowledged.”
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort is located 2.5 hours west of Calgary on the Trans Canada Highway.
