World Renowned Bulldog To Open at Silver Star

July 2006

Vernon, BC – Silver Star Mountain Resort announced today that a world renowned Bulldog Hotel & Grand Cafe is opening at the mountain. The hotel which has purchased the historic Putnam Station will be fully operational opening day of  the winter season currently scheduled for Friday, November 24, 2006 or as soon as snow permits.

The hotel will be an extension and sister property to the world-famous Bulldog Amsterdam. Frequent visitors to Vancouver will remember, The Bulldog Vancouver on Richard Street, which was the scene of many a big night during the 1990s. The ambience of the establishment will be that of the infamous Amsterdam “brown bars” in a grand café setting supported by the feel and entertainment of the Austrian ski resorts.

“The opening of The Bulldog Hotel is historic news for Silver Star and will immediately add a new element of energy and fun après-ski atmosphere to the village.” said Michael J. Ballingall, Senior Vice-President for Silver Star Ski Resort Ltd. “We’re excited and I know the resort is eagerly awaiting opening day. Guests of all ages will be pleased with the added diversity to our food and beverage line-up the Bulldog will bring to the resort. ”

The menu in the café will be influenced by many popular dishes that proved themselves in Vancouver, all served from a diverse kitchen  - even fine dining entrees will have a West Coast theme. Bulldog Hotel guests and those arriving at the resort early will be treated to a typical Dutch breakfast each morning.

Throughout the summer, the hotel continues to operate under the name Putnam Station Inn while simultaneously upgrading and renovating the premises in anticipation of opening day.
