Canadian Tourism Commission accredits Ski Tours Canada as a 'Canada Specialist'

Specialist ski travel operator Ski Tours Canada has been appointed by the Canadian Tourism Commission to join its well respected 'Canada Specialist' Program.
The Canada Specialist Program is an initiative of the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) which aims to increase the number of passengers travelling to Canada from Australia on holiday.
As part of the marketing-based program, the CTC will support Ski Tours Canada to market Canada to help generate new business, including some joint advertising and lead generation. It also provides a certificate to authenticate Ski Tours Canada's 'Canada Specialist' status.
Ski Tours Canada had to meet several criteria to be eligible for the program including being a fully licenced travel agency registered with the Travel Compensation Fund, as well as IATA (International Air Transport Association) accredited; current staff have undertaken Canada training and Canada promotions or training seminars during the past two years; and Ski Tours Canada has held an in-house promotion for Canada during the past two years.
There is also not allowed to be another existing Canada Specialist appointed in the same area.
"This is a great initiative by the Canadian Tourism Commission which will help us to not only grow our business but will also provide a key point of difference for our clients," Ski Tours Canada director Sue Thorley said.
"Ski Tours Canada is well known as having great depth of experience in the ski resorts of Canada’s west. Service and knowledge are our key drivers. Having local support at the resorts and an intimate knowledge of the region, is what makes a difference.
"Two of our staff (Karen Crawford and Heidi Vass) have worked closely with the Canada Specialist program throughout their careers and will provide a valuable bank of knowledge for clients."
Ski Tours Canada successfully launched ski packages and tours to include local ice hockey games and winery dinners offering gourmet local food and wine pairing. The company is also sponsoring an Australian school children's ski race and training events in Canada.
